Hi! I’m Wilsy. I am a therapist intern, who is dedicated on cultivating a therapeutic space where empathy, personal growth and healing intersect. I bring a compassionate, safe and culturally attuned perspective to my work, ensuring that each experience, perspective and story is honored. Together, we’ll work to uncover patterns that may be holding you back, navigate past challenges, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and resilience.
I am a second-generation South Asian immigrant, with experiences that informs my therapeutic practice by providing a deep understanding of the cultural and familial influences that shape identity. Having grown up between different worlds myself, I recognize the value of celebrating our differences while discovering common ground. I aim to work collaboratively, to work towards uncovering and leveraging your strengths and create meaningful change together.
Central to my approach is a foundation of empathy, ensuring that I meet each client with understanding and without judgment. I primarily use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I recognize that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. My commitment is to work collaboratively with you to find the most effective strategies for your personal growth and healing.
I have a background in neuroscience (BSc), mental health research and a master’s degree in community psychology (MA). Currently, I am completing my master’s degree in psychotherapy (MSc). I have had the opportunity to work with folks across diverse age groups and continue to conduct research at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH). Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my little doggo, trying new foods with friends and playing catch-up with my ever-expanding bookshelf.
If you feel “stuck” in navigating your story and are interested in working with me, feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you :)
